I'm biking across Africa & people think I'm crazy
Hi, my name is Daniel Wood and in January of next year I will be ditching the desk job for a while and embarking on an adventure in Africa as a rider on the Tour d'Afrique. The journey will see myself and a group of intrepid travelers cycling through ten countries on a four month, 12,000km ride from Cairo to Cape Town.
On this site I will be keeping everyone up to date on the trip, from the planning and preparation, to the Tour d'Afrique itself - decent internet permitting.
I will also be raising money for the Heart Foundations in both New Zealand and Australia - because we love our friends across the ditch :) The Heart Foundation not only fund research into the prevention of heart disease, they also work tirelessly to promote healthy living and a healthy lifestyle, something that I feel very strongly about. I hope to raise $12,000 towards the foundations, one for each kilometer I will cycle.
