Fremont Design

Adv + Signage
Project Management Application

Fremont Design are a Sydney based creative signage business, covering design, manufacturing and installation of quality signage. The core of their business comes from clubs, pubs and the hospitality industry. The signage designed and produced can range markedly in terms of their size.

Fremont approached Digital Fusion as they had come to the point where they needed a solution to help them grow their business. MYOB was no longer an option and the size of their team was growing, sharing spreadsheets across 10+ staff just no longer worked.

They had looked at off the shelf software, some of which was just to ‘big’ for their needs, others didn’t meet the needs of their industry nor how they wanted to do business.

So onto Digital Fusion (and FileMaker) they came.

The key objectives we focused on were:

  • The ability to allow for improved efficiency by tracking a project from start to finish
  • A more consistent way in which information is captured and stored. This will help improve the level of customer service Fremont are able to provide, by having a centralised database
  • The ability for the solution to grow with the business. Fremont have recently taken over the factory next door and this gives them the ability to take on more work. Now they get to do it with a solution that will grow as they do.
  • As a creative business they also wanted a solution that looked as good as it functioned.

What was particularly exciting about this project was it was the first project to be developed in FileMaker 14 and also our latest release of our Nutshell CRM development platform.

We got to take advantage of some of the cool new features that 14 offers, plus we got to use the really beautiful design the client came up with (see the screen shot below).

The solution is now in use at Fremont, and the early signs are very positive. They have mentioned that they already have things they want to add to the solution as time and budget allows. It’s testament to a great solution when a client comments that they are already forward thinking, so early in the piece.
